Reviews play a vital role in growing product sales and feedback for improvement in your Amazon business. Whether you are planning to launch a new product or wanting to increase trusted reviews for existing products, Amazon Vine program might just be the solution for your business.
The Amazon Vine program was once only available for vendors — but Amazon has now opened the functionality to third-party sellers. The program is still being rolled out and if you haven’t received access yet, you can either wait or send a message to the seller support team.
What is Amazon Vine Program?
Amazon Vine invites the most trusted reviewers on Amazon to post their opinions about new products to help their customers make purchase decisions. Amazon invites buyers to become Vine reviewers (called Vine Voices) based on the insightfulness of the reviews they published on their Amazon purchases and also their reviewer rankings.
Vine Voices reviewers receive products for free in exchange for their unbiased and honest product reviews. Amazon previously banned other incentivized review platforms (with the exception of Amazon Vine) — which they deem a legitimate use of social proof gathering (presumably because Amazon vets reviewers).
What are the Requirements to Enroll in Amazon Vine Program?
In order for you — and your products — to be eligible for Amazon Vine Program, your Seller Account must meet the following criteria:
- Be a professional seller and brand registered in Amazon Brand Registry.
- Have fewer than 30 reviews on the product detail page.
- Have a buyable FBA offer in ‘New’ condition.
- Not be an “adult” product.
- Products have already launched at the time of enrollment.
- Have available inventory.
- Products have an image and a description. One important note to keep in mind before enrolling in the program is that each product can only receive up to 30 reviews per ASIN. For instance, if your product currently has 5 reviews, then the maximum number of reviews it can receive through the Vine program is 25 reviews. However, if your product has 0 reviews then the maximum number of reviews it can receive through the Vine program is 30 reviews.
What are the Benefits of Using Amazon Vine Program?
Sellers are able to reap benefits such as:
- Increase high quality and trusted product reviews
- Drive traffic and improve conversions
- Increase awareness for slow-selling or new products
- Better understand your customers when you receive honest feedback early in your product life cycle.Reviews from the Vine program tend to carry a bit more weight in the eyes of potential customers as Vine Voices reviewers are seen as “expert” reviewers and have credibility.
3 Steps to Enroll Your Products in the Amazon Vine Program
Step 1 — Navigate to Vine
The first step is to navigate to the Vine program located under your “Advertising” tab within your seller central account.
The second step is to enroll eligible products in the Vine program. Enter your ASIN number and click the “Begin enrollment” button.
Step 3 — Enter the Number of Units
Keep in mind that Amazon limits the number of ASINs that can be enrolled and active at one time to only five products.
The final step is to double-check that the ASIN number shown matches your product listing. Enter the number of units you wish to enroll in the program (a maximum of 30 units since each product enrolled can only have a maximum of 30 reviews) before clicking the “Enroll” button to complete the process.Final Thoughts
The Amazon Vine program is similar to Amazon Early Reviewer Program but better as the latter is only limited to five product reviews and has added cost. Amazon also monitors the active participation of Vine Voices reviewers and their contribution to the program. Only the best reviewers will remain in Vine so you can have peace of mind if you are participating in the program.
